Producers Miscellaneous vegetables & herbs

Our belief is simple: it is the producers who make the difference.

We take the time to identify them, to understand their stories and the choices they make, so that we can better showcase their work.

Being a marketer means forging connections, meeting people and giving meaning to every product, with high standards and authenticity.

Étienne Duquesne / Deûlemont (Northern France) / Green and red oak leaf lettuce, Batavia and butterhead lettuce.

Étienne Duquesne has been a farmer in northern France for around fifteen years, a few kilometres from the Lille wholesale market.

In the summer, he mainly grows lettuces, whilst in the winter he offers other produce: potatoes, celery, cabbage and leeks.

Étienne took over the family farm and has been working with our company for seven years.

Mathieu Michot / Cambrai / White and green asparagus

In Rieux-en-Cambrésis, Mathieu Michot and Jean-Baptiste Beauvois are passionately carrying on the family farm founded in 1989 by Eric Buisset. Eric had worked with Mora Frères for over 35 years.

For the past two years, Mathieu and Jean-Baptiste have been growing mainly organic white asparagus, which perfectly illustrates our commitment to local, high-quality produce.

Their farm benefits from particularly fertile loamy soil, renowned for its ability to produce vegetables of remarkable quality. This soil, combined with meticulous expertise and constant attention to the plants’ development, ensures that the asparagus meets the highest quality standards.

Harvested from early April to mid-June, white asparagus requires daily monitoring and a high level of technical skill. To qualify for the ‘Extra’ grade, it must have a perfectly straight stalk, free from discolouration and of impeccable freshness.

At Mora Frères, we place particular importance on these growers who share our values of high standards, local sourcing and respect for the environment. Located just 80 kilometres from our shop, this farm enables us to offer our customers locally grown, organic asparagus that is freshly harvested and of exceptional quality.

Behind every asparagus spear lies the hard work, passion and commitment of producers who contribute every day to sustaining local, sustainable agriculture. It is largely thanks to them that we are able to offer our customers the very best fruit and vegetables.
